Case Study One: What if All Kentucky Reads the Same Book?
Between September 2000 and May 2001, Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives led a coalition of 130 organizations in their state. Their vision: stimulate reading and discussion among all generations, and strengthen citizens’ sense of community by having thousands of Kentuckians read and talk about “The Bean Trees” by Barbara Kingsolver at the same time. Watch this space to hear from all the key participants about how this project and this partnership evolved and endured.
